The Eagle Valley Rebels finished off their Prairie Conference softball schedule with a 6-4 win at home against Swanville Tuesday.
Playing their final home game of the season, the Rebels got off to a good start, scoring two runs in the first inning and never trailed in the game.
But the victory didn't come easily as Eagle Valley had just six hits and left seven runners on base.
"The Rebels' bats again did not come alive with runners in scoring position," explained head coach John Sieling.
The big inning for Eagle Valley was the fourth. Sierra Benning, Bonnie Oliver and Brooke Pollema each picked up big hits in the inning to score three runs and take a 5-1 lead.
Swavnille scored three unearned runs in the fifth inning to make the score 5-4.
Benning scored an insurance run in the bottom of the fifth as she singled and later came home on a fielder's choice.
Ashley Ahrendt pitched all seven innings and gave up six hits and struck out two.
"Ashley's key stat was zero walks and zero earned runs," said Sieling.
Benning had two hits and scored two runs. Becky Ecklund, Oliver, Pollema and Danielle Pratt each had one hit.
The Rebels ended their conference season with an 8-4 record and a third place finish.
